Commodore Masud Iqbal, (C), NPP, psc, BN
Commodore Masud Iqbal was born on 05 December 1969. He joined Bangladesh Navy in 1988 after completing his 12th grade from Cumilla Cadet College and was commissioned in Executive Branch in 1990.
Commodore Iqbal completed his basic training in Bangladesh Naval Academy and Britannia Royal Naval College, UK. He is a specialist in naval communication. Commodore Masud is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Mirpur, Dhaka. He attended his second staff course at Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), India. He attained two Masters degrees related to defence science from National University, Bangladesh and Madras University, India.
Commodore Iqbal has had a mix of staff, instructional and command appointments in his career. His staff appointments include grade II and grade I staff in Naval Headquarters. He also served as Director of Personnel Services. He has been an instructor in BN Gunnery School, Communication School, Seamanship School and School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics. Commodore Iqbal also served as Directing Staff at DSCSC. He served in UN mission in Cote D’ivoire as Military Observer as well. Currently he is posted as Commandant of Bangladesh Naval Academy.
Commodore Iqbal is married and his only daughter is a high school student. He enjoys movies, photography, poetry, home DIY, ornamental fish rearing and culinary arts in his leisure.
