Bangladesh Navy fosters the pride of starting her journey with sacrifice. Echoing to that pride, BNA, as a home of BN officers, upholds the prestigious duty of cultivating future leaders. With this sacred task, BNA started its journey in 1976 within the premises of Mercantile Marine Academy situated on the other side of the river KARNAPHULI. The academy was shifted to naval base at Chittagong i.e. BNS ISSA KHAN in 1977. Finally, the academy was commissioned at its present site on 02 Jun 1988. Location wise, it stands near the harbour mouth and is hugged by unlimited natural beauties.
With hard labour and firm commitment, now, BNA stands as a reputed international academy. In July 1998, the first batch of overseas officer cadets joined BNA. Now, officer cadets from Palestine, Qatar, Maldives and Srilanka are undergoing training in this Academy.
BNA takes the pride of being pioneer to introduce training of female officer cadets in Bangladesh Armed Forces. In January 2000, the first batch of female officer cadets joined BNA for training. Thereafter, the tempo of gender integration continued.
The academy stretched her wings further by accommodating Junior Staff Course in BNA since 1990. We are proud to have officers from sister services, paramilitary forces and foreign countries interacting in JSC.
